I never bought booze illegally in Portugal actually. When I was a teenager the legal drinking age in Portugal was 16 years old which coincided with the age where I started experimenting some alcoholic beverages when going out with friends. Nowadays the legal drinking age is 18.

In Portugal they probably would have left him alone.

Just an example that tolerance differs per country and that Scandinavia isn't necessarily tolerant.
I am assuming that Sweden has a strong pharmaceutical industry. That should explain why they might see it as a threat.

Ironically I never saw as much marijuana in my life as when I was in Poland. Many of my Polish friends were heavy consumers. They were quite paranoiac about being caught though as it was completely ilegal, at least when I used to live in there back in 2010.

I don't know, I am from the forests, vegetarian and so on, but that (legalization) can explain some behaviour of some Poles here or general, isn't it? lol

I don't think so, my Polish friends were very laid back and down to earth people. Not the type who would have any interest on haplogroups and anthrotardism

Very different from in the Czech Republic, where authorities don't bat an eye over cannabis consumption. Still Poles remain what they are and proudly so, barbarians who don't care about laws and think the latter only exist to be broken.

Have Portuguese picked up on the botellón culture from Spain? It's pretty much a thing minors enjoy doing.

I was actually surprised to see Czech Republic being one of the biggest consumers in Europe. Highest rate of beer consumption and now marijuana too. They probably hate being sober.

It is common among certain neighborhoods where people gather to drink and socialize, like Bairro Alto in Lisbon.

Drinking in public is legal in Portugal.

Based on which research method? Generally, the indicator is annual prevalence, which doesn't reflect what we intuitively mean by "rate of consumption" very well, since the information that someone consumed cannabis at least once in the past survey year does not say anything about the amount consumed, which is actually crucial. Of course, there'd be some degree of correlation, but how much should we extrapolate the data is questionable at best. I'm not saying you're wrong though, just making a point about interpreting the data in the correct way.
