I do worry about a lot of these becoming artificially inflated though. If people are buying them to have them and not actually use them, a crash will happen inevitably.
Undoubtedly there will be crashes in the future. We just had one last month. A bigger crash may be looming. Again, this is all unthreaded waters. When the internet first blew up, there was a huge dotcom crash.

I would only invest money that you feel pretty comfortable with losing. Invest it, and pretend that it's lost forever. That's really the only way to deal with it.

Basically, aside from being a storage of value, it really has no other utility.

Thats why I see Ripple really taking off, because its practical fundamentals are much stronger. It has the possibility of taking the place of Swift in bank transactions and has a growing array of partnerships and its transaction costs and times are very low and fast.

Tron I see rising very quickly because it has the backing of a lot of large Chinese tech players including tencent and alibaba, and it's cost per coin is very low right now, although its market cap is already no 11 (it was no 17 a week ago) and its trading volume is already in the top 6. So I see it rising very fast in the near future. Long term wise, it will depend on whether they really pull off what they are planning to do. Thats far from certain.
Agree Ripple will take over from SWIFT as the world's international payments platform. SWIFT is archaic and needs replacement, and Ripple is it. Many banks are already on board and the list is growing. All the more reason for XRP to gain more and more in value and relevance.

Heard a man at the bank saying he made good money on Ripple. Bought at 1.00 sold at 2.00. I just opened a trading account today, but my hands are tied until around Tuesday. I don't know anything about these crypto-currencies, but I know they have ticker symbols.

SWIFT is a dinosaur. Ripple will replace it quickly once it starts to get used widely by banks. Also, since Ripple sells itself as a partner to banks and essentially Wall Street, you will see far less institutional resistance of it than Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies whose supporters are sometimes ideological in trying to overturn the banking system. Coupled with it being added on Coinbase, Ripple is definitely my favorite for a long hodl.

I thought you already own bitcoin or ethereum? I have Ripple, I bought it many months ago when it was flatlining pretty low, I saw the potential in it so I just bought a bunch and left it there. I'm fucking glad I did.

My financial advisor has me in a bunch of ETFs, but I don't have any securities myself. Decided to open a trading account today after I saw LFIN on the way up 10 days ago, and correctly called AQB going down today after an 150% upswing.

We all saw Bitcoin grew the most over $16000 USD, Litecoin lifted more than 333% whereas Ripple got high by 84% but compared to all only TRONIX has managed to grow faster compared to all of these digital currencies.

    ChainLink, Ripple, for starters...

I will study it but never grow the balls to buy it. Permanently in a state of 'It's too late', regardless if I stare at a chart go parabolic every day for the rest of my life.

Obviously, this is a market subject to wild fluctuations. It is still at its infancy so no one can make any long term predictions. I don't give a fuck what you think you know, no one really knows.

So as for predictions, limit it to a general 3-6 month term.

Which Cryptocurrencies would you bet on to rise significantly in the next few months?

My bets are Ripple and TRON.
    Crypto-Kitties, bro.

I'm about some now. It reminds me of Beanie Babies of the 90s but with genetics.

Not a crypto-currency but it involves crypto-currency. It's value is in the rare cats being highly desired collectibles.

No more Generation0 kitties by November.

It's not too late, but the stage where you turn a $100 into a million is probably gone. But blockchain tech is here to stay. It's really just the beginning. There may be some huge crashes lined up and who knows if the top 10 coins today are going to be around or dominant in ten years, but the tech is not going anywhere.
