You're mistaken. NW Russians near the Finnish border and fully ethnic Finns are closer to each other than ethnic Finns to Swedes. A lot of Finns have Swedish ancestry. Even anthropologists noted that Finns from where Swedes historically lived are mostly nordic, whilst others not.

I'm Russian. Finns look more like Swedes than us. I have both Slavic (Western) and Finnic (Eastern) roots.

Whiteness is just an oppressive class. Histroically in America, groups in America that are considered "white" today weren't, and assimilate to the to avoid opppression. Today, there are ethnic groups who are starting to assimilate into whiteness more, too. I think that ever since humans started creating hierarchical concepts such as "race," people started liking the idea of being different to one another and it often makes them feel superior to some people. A lot of people on this site are like this.

I'm not saying that people who are considered "white" are all evil oppressors, but the concept of whiteness is histroically similar to the caste system concept in india, and whiteness is just an oppressive class. Ethnic groups like the Italians, Jews, Hubgarian, Polish, and Irish had to assimilate to whiteness which was based around anglo-saxonness. Even today, a lot of Americans don't really consider Albanians "white" people even though they are European, because they are largely Muslim. It just goes to show that it is a social construct.

I don't think that race is biologically real. I don't deny that there is genetic variation within the human race, but there is no non-arbitrary way to divide that variation at all, especially when you consider the fact there is a subspecies of gorilla in Central Africa that has 5x more genetic variation between its members than any two humans do, yet those gorillas are considered the same "race." Same thing with penguins, fruit flys, etc. Humans, more specifically homo-sapien ones, are just really genetically close to each other. We are a new species or race.

Also, scientists are still struggling to define what a species even is. There is currently three main concepts used (that arent used exclusively), but even then, biologists struggle and there is a lot of arbitrariness. What makes people think that human races exist when scientists can barely come to a concensus on what a species is, or what makes one society distinct enough from the other, on a molecular, genetic level?

People also assign pseudo-scientific, erroneous conclusions about people's athletic ability, intelligence, body shape, smell, etc to these different so-called races even though it has been proven over and over again to be false.

Finally, I believe that almost all (or maybe literally even all) genetic variation within humans comes exclusively from neanderthal ancestry. I mean, for instance, we know that homo-sapiens originated in Africa, and that most pure native Africans don't have any neanderthal ancestry. When you look at a pca, the groups that have increasing neanderthal or Denisovan ancestry plot further away from africans. I believe that if you take genes derived from neanderthal ancestry in some people out of the equation, then compare the human genome with strictly homo-sapien genes, you will find that allele frequencies across populations probably don't differ at all. Studies have also shown that human skin color in Eurasia is 70% influenced by neanderthal ancestry.

It would be interesting if neanderthals still existed, I wonder how people's of notions of race would work then. They came from Europe and most people would probably think they are just some odd looking "white" people even though Africans and Europeans are much more genetically closer than neanderthals and Europeans are.

English is everywhere from tv, movies, internet and games and so on. I think I sort of understood English even before we started studying it, or at least I picked it up without effort almost immediately. I understand Swedish pretty ok but speaking is different thing when you don't use it. At least my Swedish is better than my German
My opinion is that studying Swedish could be optional in schools.
