The article is American... I can tell by the spellings.

An addict usually lives in denial.

It's like asking non drug addicts if they'd date a drug addict. Eg; someone who self-destructs with cocaine, heroin, crystal meth, etc. A drug addict will give a different response to try to justify their addiction rather than admitting to having a problem, in comparison to the non drug addicts.

I think that's why on dating sites, people are asked if they're a smoker or not. It's like alcoholics and drug addicts are best left to being around other addicts like themselves.

If you care about your body, mouth hygiene and if you use deodorant, parfume, gum you won't disturb anyone else. If that person doesn't care about these things, he or she is most probably nasty and it is normal if you don't want to be with that person.

Fair point, but girls like guys who are "bad" but in a safe way. Smoking is "bad" in a safe way. ("bad" in an unsafe way is hard drugs or being in a gang)
