Preferred method of nicotine intake among tobacco users I know- including relatives.

And I tell them to dip rather than light up, so I don't have to inhale their smoke.

I thought snus was only available in Scandinavia. At least that's the only place I was able to try it in all the countries I have been.

Indian dip is almost as strong as snus, but not quite. Always have some in our households.

I had never heard about dip tobacco as well until recently. Has it always been popular in the U.S. or is just some emerging trend in the last couple of years?

Snus is actually the emerging trend.

Dip tobacco has been around forever, especially in rural areas.

Yes but it wasn't something that only elderly people used to do? It seems like it is becoming a trend among teenagers around the U.S. nowadays because I don't recall or remember seeing kids all over the place talking about dipping tobacco on youtube as they do nowadays.

Yes, it used to be associated mainly with older people and rural hillbilly types.

Not sure why teenagers are starting to use it now but I'm guessing its because they think it's less harmful than smoking (lol).

Also, it doesn't affect your lung capacity so high school and college athletes will prefer it over smoking.

It wasn't 'walls' of c&p... just a few simple paragraphs from experts.

However, you've not provided any data for your absurd claims, but can only diss the experts.
Do not try to act like an authority on human prehistory when all you did was a quick Google search and name-flinging. Read it again: hominoid ancestors of humans. I was pointing out the fact that inhaling burnt plant matter is what humans and pre-human hominoids (or whatever you want to call them) were conditioned to for thousands of years as product of controlled use of fire, and the earliest solid evidence we have of it now is exactly a million years old, from Wonderwerk Cave.

As for the argument I was making, check out report about study with nearly 150.000 people observed:
    http://mobile.reuters.com/article/am...06339920070320

Compared to people who had never smoked and were considered to have "normal" Parkinson's disease risk, former smokers had a 22-percent lower risk of Parkinson's disease and current smokers had a 73-percent lower risk.

"The results were similar for men and women, and were also similar to the results of studies by many other researchers looking at the same topic," Thacker noted.

Note that I never argued against harmfulness of comercially produced cigarettes, but against that of natural tobacco.

Check out US Surgeon General report on smokers, who use closest to what is available to untainted tobacco comercially (although it still is tainted):
(No. 1103, page 92) “Among the pipe smokers…The U.S. mortality ratios are 0.8 for non-inhalers and 1.0 for inhalers;”.

What this means is that for pipe smokers who inhale, mortality rate is about as same as that of non-smokers, and same goes for non-inhalers who have it just slightly lower.
