Sylhetis of the poor population to lower middle class can look just like non sylhetis/mainstream bengalis. When sylhetis and non-sylhetis climb the socio-economic ladder, for the most part on average sylhetis look far more west Indian shifted than your average mainstream bengalis of similar social class.

The muslim sylheti population is only 9 million in the entire world; we produce West Indian shifted phenotypes at a much significant rate than 150+ millions of mainstream bengalis/non-sylhetis.
