They wouldn't look out of place in modern-day regions of their birth, if that's what you meant. But they could hardly be called stereotypical because the populations here are quite diverse.

My Surname ended with Ski till 1991 but that was because we had to do it like that, I still have cousins with Surnames ending with Ski but those Surnames have no meaning in Slavic they have either an Albanian meaning like Malovski ( Mal = Mountain ) or Turko-Arabic as a result of the Islamization of Albanians surnames like Sulejmanovski, Kadrievski etc etc....

anyways just came to check what is the thread about.
