I don't know what West interprets it as, in Turkey it's about creating Mythe about Ottoman Empire, it's dissolution and founding the Turkish Republic, in order to brainwash Turks and make them take a more obediant stance opposed to questioning, just like obeying and Ottoman sultan. Worst thing is that those who create these Myths also believe in them, now people think they are rebuilding the Kingdom of Heaven while they ruin our future and being a laughing stock.

Bad thing is that only those retarded neo-ottomanists are willing to compete with West, which is the only good trait about them, and that's why they pose threat for West. Left wing would beg for acceptance instead.

I think so too, Erdoğan's reign is just a phase, Turkey is changing methods in a good way. I wonder how a post-Erdoğan Turkey will look like.

If you still live there by then, it will feel horrible to you. For everyone else outside Turkey, it already feels like watching one of those bad porno movies where you can't just skip to the good part and get over with it, but have to go through all the badly written dialogue and then they start the fucking part but all you can see in half the shots is the male talent's ass and balls.

At least, as soon as Erdogan gets out of the way you can build it all back up. Hopefully, this time with a bit more humility and NO Cyprus.
