Is North Italy part of Central Europe?

All Italy is Western Europe but North Italy in particular has some cultural ties with Central Europe.

But if you take in consideration that the "Central Europe" definition comprises countries like Poland, Slovakia, Hungary etc, northern Italy fits much better in the western Europe definition, despite having some obvious ties with its central european neighbours (like Austria), who are also at their core "western" nations.

Disagree, North Italians are closest to Iberians and Southern French genetically. Not groups like Slovenes, Austrians, Czechs and Germans.

Central Europe really to me does not even exist. You have Western Europe and Eastern Europe. Southern and Northern Europe.

Central Europe is way too ambiguous. Switzerland has 4 official languages and really does not fit in any region. Austria has very Eastern European leaning in my opinion also.

East Germany is also no where near a Western European Standard of Living.

All of Italy is closer to each other than any of them are close to anything else. They all speak Italian in some form and the Latin influence of Southern Europe is all over Italy. The Renaissance which started in Central Italy actually came from the Greek Byzantines that fled the Ottomans,, they are Southern Europeans from Greece that started the Renaissance.

Historically non-Italian speaking populations like the Cimbrians and Aostans aside, the most northern Nth Italian samples I have seen are from Veneto and Friuli-Venezia-Giulia. While they are north shifted to compared to other Northerners they still are closer to North Italians than any other population.
