Is North Italy part of Central Europe?

In culture theres more southern elements, but people by looks are mostly fit in central europe.

If there is a Central Europe one must factor in East to West and North to South. I do not consider Former Communist block countries Central Europe they are just Eastern to me. Austria and Switzerland is just Western Europe even though Austria has Eastern leanings.

My understanding is the standard of living is NOT at Western levels. East Germany is also included in this. West Germany has taken advantage of the Eastern European cheap labor force. If Eastern Europe has improved so much why are they moving to Western Europe in levels that forced the UK to exit the EU. They were not fans of the immigration from Eastern Europe. Not to say the UK is even that great of place anyway they have their own problems.

Economically you are correct. But this is no Central Europe this is just Western Europe in my opinion. There is no real Central Europe -politically speaking.

yeah we inherited a bipolar view pretty much. east and west.

probably the concept existed under and as a synonim of the Holy roman Empire, that was really central europe

The Holy Roman Empire at one point controlled much of Southern, Western and Eastern Europe. I do not know enough of what it would be considered today.

Even today Switzerland speaks, French,Italian,German and Romansh. They have influence from many places. They are considered "Central Europe" but politically have not much in common at all with Czech Republic or Hungary. They have more in common with Italy and France than those countries. So how could they politically be part of the same region of Central Europe. When you think about it it makes absolutely no sense.
