I think some people are a little bit lost.

As said there are only two genders - male & female. Even transgenders who undergo therapy & surgery generally aim to be either a male or a female. The only exceptions to this would be, as mentioned, through biological issues such as someone born a legitimate or near enough [partial] hermaphrodite. These other "genders" are not genders in the biological sense of the word as they are psychological constructs.

This is not true. Native American and several other societies had multiple genders and all people respected them. Gender =/= sex. Gender is identity based. I will admit that gender is based on gender roles a lot of the time, which is a social construct, but it is not based on sex or gender dysphoria.

Not all Native Americans did, only some did.

They had a third gender which was based solely on gender roles that the third gender people (berdaches) themselves did not choose to have but were assigned it by elders. It should be noted though that this third gender was considered distinct from both male and female and has nothing to do with the modern invention of transgenderism.
