This is fucking ridiculous. Our Gregorian Calendar is still fundamentally the same (Roman) Calendar, but more properly adjusted. This is comparable to what Caesar did when he introduced the Julian Calendar. It's very simple. The calendar has to be synchronized with astronomy. That's the beauty and utility of our calendar. Otherwise, eventually, the seasons will become too fucked up and mismatched with the dates. Thankfully, Caesar didn't have the same superstitions about making necessary adjustments to the Roman Calendar.
