USA recieved millons of germans, but the USA population was already huge. For example, in 1890 Peak of German immigrants in USA, Germans only represented 4,4% of the population ( 1890 Census USA 62.979.766 German born 2.784.894)

Also many immigrants were already British. Its understandable that USA genetics is heavily british

because we only have 50 samples from australia and canada.

Have you noticed that the colombian sample is in the northern part of spanish samples? The average would be exactly in andalucia.


Puerto Ricans are not more northern euro, it gives you that impression because there are A LOT of samples. Same with brazil, you have some scoring like germans but you have hundrends scoring like portuguese. Its because the samples are big.

Average is like 3/4 Anglo, 1/4 German for most "White Americans." If anything, it may even be a bit more Anglo shifted than that. Germans, despite having large numbers, had a quite small influence IMO in the U.S. overall. We are an Anglo dominant country.

yes too few, its kind of useless to make the PCA when the samples is so small. The result could be very inacurate.

Seems that way. Surprising to me actually. I'm used to areas like Ohio and Pennsylvania having large German and Dutch roots.

I will also check if some of my ethnic German kits live in the USA.
