I have met African Americans both in Greece and during my visit to the U.S. They were all very pleasant, well behaved people, very typical Americans and patriotic Americans at that. So far my encounter with them has only been positive which is why I have a positive opinion of them.

That's only natural. Those who take an interest in other cultures and have the means to travel will more likely to be decent. The cheaper and easier the trip the worst people you'll get. The more expensive and further the trip the better people you'll get.
