The destruction of Paris: How the city of light became the city of garbage
By VOICE OF EUROPE 13 January 2018

Last year more than 100,000 migrants requested asylum in France, an increase of 17 per cent compared with 2016 and the highest ever recorded

France is a large country and its ability to temporarily house migrants shouldn’t be a big problem, in theory. In practice, however, migrants don’t migrate once in France, ironically, but concentrate; the best example being the infamous Calais camp or “Jungle”, from where they seek a way of entering the United Kingdom.

Besides that, a lot of migrants are also concentrated in France’s larger cities such as Bordeaux, Paris and Lille. These cities already had large migrant populations, a large underclass and probably more than a few no-go zones as well.

After the Calais jungle camp was demolished, things became worse. Mayors of seven major French cities rang the alarm because they could not help and accommodate the endless stream of migrants.

Entire neighbourhoods were transformed into garbage dumps

In addition, thousands of migrants went to Paris. Soon, Paris became the new Calais camp replete with tents, mattresses and mountains of garbage on the streets. Their mere presence changed large swathes of the French capital from a city that was once Europe’s cultural centre, a beacon of civilisation, into an almost literal Third World migrant jungle.

Several ghetto camps formed throughout the city, it was as if the banlieues (suburbs) where rioting and car burnings occur with little pretext had moved themselves into the centre of the city; entire neighbourhoods were transformed into garbage dumps. Near canals, metro tracks, train stations, parks and even near a road in the 19th arrondissement of Paris vast mountains of rubbish accumulated.

French police forcefully removed these camps more than 10 times but they reappear within days, likely aided and abetted by so-called NGOs that facilitate a lot of Europe’s colonisation by third world migrants. A police staff member who wanted to remain anonymous told the Local:

“The problem is already here. The refugees have always moved between Calais and Paris, often depending on what action police take down here.”

There will be no short term solution for Paris, as president Macron’s plans for stricter immigration laws face strong opposition. The citizens of Paris and the millions of tourists who visit her every year are forced to accept that the city of lights has been extinguished, civilisation has ceased and it has become a garrison of garbage.

A friend of mine came back from Paris, the touristy areas at least are still pretty nice. They didn't notice a big change from years ago.

Don't a lot of (maybe even most) big European cities have some parts like that?

Paris metro drivers refuse to stop at some stations for safety concerns, including one used as Muslim migrant camp
    JAN 19, 2018 6:56 AM

Drivers on the Paris metro are refusing to stop at certain stations due to the high level of crime and drug use claiming that the areas may not be safe for their passengers.

Drivers working for the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP), Paris’s publicly-owned transport company, say that several stations to the north of Paris have become rife with drug use and criminality and present a danger to passengers, French broadcaster BFMTV reports.

According to the RATP union UNSA, there are drug addicts and dealers seen daily on lines 4 and 12 at stations like Marcadet Poissonnier and Porte de la Chapelle with the later station also being a well-known place for migrants to camp out.

The union also says that the safety of the RATP employees is impacted in troubled areas as the number of violent incidents toward the employees has increased dramatically in recent months.

The RATP has also commented on the conditions saying that they are working with local police to try and clean up some of the more troubled stations, but UNSA and the Federation of Transport and Public Service Users, an advocacy group for transit users, say the measures are not enough.

Last week, both organisations sent letters to Interior Minister Gerald Collomb, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, and president of the Ile-de-France regional council Valérie Pécresse requesting “urgent and serious measures be rapidly implemented”.

The move comes only months after French courier service Chronopost announced that they would not be delivering packages in certain Parisian neighbourhoods due to danger to their staff.

While the migrant-populated suburbs of northern Paris have long been considered no-go zones, the violence and crime of the suburbs have started to spread into the northern part of central Paris in recent years.

In his recent book, No Go Zones: How Sharia Law Is Coming to a Neighborhood Near You, Breitbart London editor in chief Raheem Kassam noted last February that bus drivers were avoiding certain stops in the suburb of Aulnay-sous-Bois after the area was plagued by riots.

Kassam attempted to visit the area of the rioting, which started after a man named Theo claimed that police had brutally inserted a baton into his rectum, but was told by the bus driver that the bus would not be stopping in the area.

Women in the north of the city have described being constantly harassed by men who often refuse to allow them into certain cafes.

Last year a “no-go zone” app was released for mobile phones which allowed users to look at sections of Paris and report crimes so that other users can avoid areas with a high number of reports.
