Americans of anglo and german background are more american than the rest because they built that country. Without them the US would not exist. The rest just followed when the former had already done all the hard work.

You mean the black slaves , who picked the cotton, along with the oppressed Irish and Chinese who built the railroads ? The American revolution was a Scots-Irish Presbyterian rebellion aided by the French etc...therefore the scots-irish are the 'white' aborignes.

European-Americans are more American because they were always the majority, founded the country and did most of the building of the country. Of course the others(blacks, East Asians, mestizos, American Indians etc) also contributed significantly, especially the blacks maybe for being more numerous and being in America since colonial times.

None of those colored groups had any very significant contributions to make.
