It has made me laugh from the start, all Fyrokis are letting the air out of their asses and leaning back on their seats in relief. They are no longer under the threat of our tanks breaking down their fake statues.

This is not what the Bulgarian people want. This is our government sucking up so we get accepted into the EU Council Presidency which is currently being arranged.

Thats our bargainin chip.We leave the Fyroki posers alone, they accept us on the council.

This can also be said about our intentions here and how we use it for nato/eu applications. This may be true but I know my grandfathers for example would have been elated to see we are mending fences.

I agree we should keep very good relations but only if Macedonians stop claiming our historical figures as theirs (or confess their ethnicity is 70 years old and before that they were Bulgarians), stop calling us Tatars and agree we are the closest people to them culturally and in heritage.

So, you don't see why Greeks should have problem with Fyromian claims but you are right to have problem with Fyromian claims?

I'm against Macedonians (the Slavs) claiming Greek history and territory.

But there is one good solution about their name - Small Bulgaria. Bulgarians and Greeks would be happy, but that won't happen sadly

Would be a cool solution. I'd cheer for that if it could happen

We are Macedonians no matter what, and the country will be called Macedonia no matter what.
We are close people to Bulgarians by culture and language, that's for sure, but somewhere in the middle of 19th century some of our people have started to identify as Macedonians, hence new identity different than Bulgarian emerged.
You can look on this as in the case with Germany and Austria.
I don't think that the Austrians would like their country to be called "Small Germany", don't they?
As for the connection with the ancient Macedonians, I will leave them to you, after all they spread Hellenic culture around the world, no matter what they were.
However, make no mistake, you don't and can't hold a monopoly over the name Macedonia!!!

Before 1930s they were very, very few. VMRO's goal was autonomous Macedonia for various reasons, but before the Comintern their overwhelming majority identified as Bulgarians.

Anyways Bulgaria and Macedonia (whatever is the future name) should have relations similar to relations Kosovo and Albania have, or Greece and Cyprus. VMRO's goal would be fulfilled then. As for the name, I think "Macedonia" should be part of it, but something should imply that it is different from the region in modern Greece.

I agree with all of this. I think Vardar Macedonia is the best solution, because that’s what Macedonia is: the other geographic parts of the geographic region of Macedonia are Pirin Macedonia and Agean Macedonia which are in Bulgaria and Greece.
