I thought she was Circassian. Apparently she's only half Lezgin and half Kumyk.

Another Turkish person ABF told me years ago that she's of Circassian descent too, but Wiki says Lezgin descent. Who is right and where do Turks get the idea she's of Circassian descent from?

Lezgins are one of the most North Caucasian ethnic groups genetically, they don't really have any influence from Persians or Azeris, its the other way around if so.

I live in Caucasus, i know what Lezgins look like. We have Lezgin minority in Georgia, they are the most Azeri influenced Caucasian population.
In Georgia they consolidate with Azeris not just because they are muslims, but because they have a lot common cultural things.

My assumption is because Circassians are the largest Caucasian group in Turkey so they tend to use "Circassian" as a catch-all term for Caucasians in general. Its probably similar to how some ignorant Westerners refer to Middle Easterners in general by the term "Arab". Just an assumption though (I never heard of this person before you posted her), so I may be wrong.

Its so. In Turkey all North Caucasian diaspora is called Circassian
