What do the rest of Hungarians think of Greece, South Europe,Eastern Europe,Romania and Scandinavia?

South Europe: beautiful architecture, rich culture and history, delicious food, but too hot weather for me. Would like to visit Greece and Italy.

Romania: I generally have nothing against Romania, if I see a friendly comment from Romanians, actually I am glad. I really dont like how the hatred is fueled on both sides....

Eastern Europe: I am a little bit afraid of Russia's influence. I don't see white and black, as if in the EU there was only bad or good, while Russia and its influenced area and Putin was always the opposite... I do see the bad things in both. And as a small country, we always had to, and we will always have to choose. ALWAYS. West, or East, or you are dead. So, I would rather choose west, even if reluctantly, because the EU is not good either but still gives more freedom than probably something with Russia's influence. (which i almost start to see in my own country...)
Politics aside, I love the Russian language, I love some of their music, art and architecture. They belong, at least the western part, in Europe.

Scandinavia: nice weather, nature, and architecture. Some of them, too madly liberal, which I don't think will be good for them in the long run.

Greece: beautiful country, cradle of western civilisation

South Europe: I don’t have any special opinion, but I would like to live there, bc I love sunny places. Of course I consider them as a part of the West. South Europeans must be proud of their great artists (painting, architecture, movie directors) and their great wine.

Eastern Europe: Many of them poorer than Hungary, but maybe this will change. Russia belongs to the East. I’m not fan of Russian policy, but I don’t hate Russian people. Russia has/had great writers and composers and strong vodka.

Romania: Belongs to Europe and part of the Western civilisation. According to Freedom House, today Romania is more democratic than Hungary. I love their language. I hope Romanian-Hungarian relations will improve in the future. (This is just my secret dream.)

Scandinavia: I respect their democratic values. That’s all.

I don't personally buy into that BS. It's mostly just slander. Whatever the powers that be (mostly US and EU) like and want is always "better"; i.e. more free, democratic etc. Unlike Hungary, Romania has been more obedient of the EU, so they'll be more "democratic". The protests in the last few days in Romania clearly shows that Romanians in general don't like what their politicians are doing. Honestly, Russia get's fucked the most by this. I don't see the strong barrier from other European countries to Russia, but apparently all whom have bad history with Russia sees it. Trust me, you'd relate a lot more with a Russian than a Englishman. They're not different from the rest of Europe, it's mostly propaganda.

Thank you for using critical thinking skills and seeing through the very thin sheen of "truth" the EU and "Freedom House" push. You are correct in all of your statements. Romania impeached their leadership but they were super loyal to the EU, so the EU intervened and nullified it. There is a grave disconnect between the people and the EU in general. The EU also nullifies referendums it does not like, or otherwise holds rejected ones again as "maybe all of the facts weren't understood" until it passes. The west does not speak for me as much as it tries to or pretends to. It's nice to see that someone living in Norway understands, as the Scandinavian countries are so brainwashed sometimes that it hurts.

As 1/4 hungarian who live here and was born in Hungary:

1. Greece, i've been there many times as tourist, beautiful country. I support them against the turkish agression. I saw some ortodox priest on the street in Thessaloniki with big beard, they were interesting because there are no such guys in Hungary neither in Germany.
2. South Europe: i think Greece is also south european. Italy is positive for me, i like their kichen very much + i love Bud Spencer & Terence Hill movies, just like almost everyone in Hungary, they are legends here. Spain is neutral, maybe because i have never been there and i don't know any spanish people, but the Torrente movies are great
3. East Europe is negative, especially the russians. They are absolutely aliens for me, but i like how ukrainians hate communism very much. Sadly to see that many hungarian are pro-russian.
4.Romania is neutral, but many hungarian have negative feelings for historical reasons.
5. Scandinavia is partly negative for me, especially the lunatic swedish politicians who are absolutely insane and i don't understand why do swedes let them to do that. Norway and Denmark (+ Finland if you consider it scandinavian coutnry) are okay, and btw the scandinavian nature, the forests the mountains etc are beautiful accourding to pics what i saw. Their mentality is also a little bit strange to me.
