I remember some study claimed that Ashkenazis intermarried with Euro women back in Rhineland. Apparently that's not true, if most of their Euro mHGs are typical for Slavic nations.

Not quite half Ashkenazi (on my mother's side), but mother's mother side is fully Ashkenazi, half Bulgarian Sephardic (on my father's side). And my mtDNA is quite uncommon for someone who is Ashkenazi, so this should not be seen as a typical result

There is both...You can find both Western European and Eastern European mtDNA subclades among Ashkenazi Jews, as well as some Middle Eastern.

Which are Western European? I think they are mostly Italian (so rather Southern European).

But a lot of European mtDNA originally came from Anatolia, the Levant and Caucasus. And AFAIK, most of Ashkenazi Jewish mtDNA is of Neolithic (rather than WHG or Steppe) origin.

Even subclades which are claimed to be European, are mostly Neolithic.
