Default Why does no one ever see Turkey as European when PART of Turkey is in Europe?

Clearly part of Turkey is in Europe and is even more Western physically than parts of Russia and Ukraine. We can debate the culture and religion but we must admit that a Turk that is born on the European soil of Turkey is European. This is a a Yes or No question. Europe is a physical place(continent).

I don't see myself European but some Turks reasonably feel European. Turkey is partially European but Easternism dominates the culture and politics. Turkey is seen European at least on political level, Turkey is a member of Council of Europe and in many other European organizations.

I do not see anything wrong with a Turk that is born in Istanbul calling themselves Europeans because technically they are European.

Not every Turk or Turkish citizen is on European level and see himself/herself European, but those who reasonably feel European are excluded from Europe because of the former group. I have no intentions to be European, being civilized is enough.

Eastern Turkey is by culture and development level is on the same level with other Middle-Eastern countries, they're having culture shock even in Western parts of Turkey let alone Europe. Turkey is a confusing country, you can never be sure what it is.

I know and that is fine nothing wrong with that. I like Turks and have no problems with them. I do not like how they are treated here. You are a cool guy from what I can tell.

10% of Kazakhstan is in Europe, compared to 5% of Turkey.

So if Turkey is European, then Kazakhstan is as well.

Id say being a Muslim excludes someone from Western (European/European descended) culture, which is overwhelmingly Christian.

    Thanks.

Even i hate Turkey sometimes, it can be very suffocating to me, i'm by no means a blind nationalist (i despise those who're overproud of their nations)
