Do people tend to listen to music that is from the same sex/race as themselves?

Not familiar with him. I didn’t grow up listening to Ecuadorian music. Maybe a bit of Latino music, but mainly pop and classical.

I think I'm in the same boat as yours, but there was a time where the majority of the music I listened were East Asian.

Personally, I love listening to music from races other than my own.

I like the classical music of Europeans.

I like Aramaic and Hebrew singing of the Psalms

I like the music of Americans who invented Rock and Ballad.

African-American music like RnB, Jazz and Gospel Music, I also like.

But I like listening to my own gender sing mostly because at least I know that I could also sing at the same pitch. I like listening to women sing too but I don't usually listen to women's songs because I find it almost impossible to re-create their tone. I think this is the main reason why people listen to music of artists from their same gender.
