Personally, I love listening to music from races other than my own.

I like the classical music of Europeans.

I like the music of Americans who invented Rock and Ballad.

African-American music like RnB, Jazz and Gospel Music, I also like.

But I like listening to my own gender sing mostly because at least I know that I could also sing at the same pitch. I like listening to women sing too but I don't usually listen to women's songs because I find it almost impossible to re-create their tone. I think this is the main reason why people listen to music of artists from their same gender.
My favorite instances of vocal performances tend to be male sung.

Notable exceptions include: Sia, Rihanna, Del Rey, Flack

Same here except I have a different list for female exceptions, mainly: Mariah Carey (Her range is outrageous, she sings in the whistle register at times), Celine Dion (Her "All Coming Back to me now is powerful"), Beyonce (Her "Halo" is great) and Leona Lewis.

Lol I've always have an African fetish when it came to female singers since most of them are either African-American or African-British. My mother (RIP) would probably disown me for having a fetish for African women because she was afflicted with typical Latino/Spanish colonized mindset of viewing whites superior, both by looks and culture.

My other guilty pleasure asides from African women would probably be listening to boy-bands mostly obsessed by teenage girls, since I always dreamed of being a part of my own boy-band, but I'm selective though, I only listen to reasonably aesthete and skilled boybands, mostly so I can copy their aesthetics and practice their particular style.

    Nice post.

This is my current favorite instance of female vocals:

Though Mercury is my favorite (I consider Sia to be in the same elite tier of vocalists)

ok i'am white european and my musical tastes are so special than frankly it's true i mostly made by white europeans or white north americans,it's because in the styles than i'am listen there is not a lot of afro-americans,indeed excepted a very few ones and again it's not the best acts, but i'am more open than you can think i listen a lot of very highly produced masterpieces i don't like mediocrity and mainstream shitty music, but i like very strongly, the female voices of the label nettwerk,a big canadian label based in vancouver?in the different styles and currents than i'am listen you could find some elements of hip-hop,more abstact hip hop indeed, some elements of electro-funk,even arabic,etc...

my softer side huge ,huge fan! :
