Do people tend to listen to music that is from the same sex/race as themselves?

I prefer bands from various European countries.

Also I like Russian rock and LatinAmerican pop.

That is "in General", for sure.

Talking about sex of musicians, I guess I prefer female singers ( Minniva, Anahata, Floor Jansen, Sia ) but I like some male singers too ( Dan Vasc, Valeriy Kipelov and few more+ )

There are absolutely no rules for me in this regard. I may like many types of music of very diverse genres originating from completely different cultures performed by men, by women, by children and even by the elderly.

My music taste is very broad to the extent that I even enjoy listening to music in a foreign language that I’m not fluent in.
But I have noticed I prefer Rock and Trance music over today’s Hiphop and R&B but that’s because today’s mainstream music is absolute garbage for the most part.

When I was younger I listened to RnB/Pop/Hip-hop, now I can't stand that kind of music so music tastes can definitely change over the years.

I think since music is more communal and from our tribal history that people can enjoy music from both genders. I think males may be a bit more lop sided if they are ignorant and or more aggressive. But I think a lot of that is falseness and ego rather than testosterone. I have known dudes who were roided out af and still could be a nice dude and caring person with their family etc.
