Yeah I found it funny how people from countries with a diversity in skin tone like Mexico, Colombia and Dominican Republic can be more backwards, racist and ignorant then predominantly white countries like Uruguay and Argentina who are more progressive and tolerant. It’s like in the US, the south plenty of racial/skin color diversity compared to the rest of continental US, but also has some of the most backwards people you’ll ever meet. Liberal whites from places like New York and the northeast are more subtle in they’re racism.
In San Diego I only met a Dominican guy. He was working at the front desk in my hotel and looked pred. caucasoid with wavy black hair. In Los Angeles all the Hispanics assumed I was Puerto Rican and it was usually Mexicans guessing. LOL. It was so hella bothersome (I hate being mistaken for Bori). They would always say to me "because of the accent". Mire cońo. In NYC everybody is aware (and I mean ALL ethnic groups including white people) that we hate getting mistaken for each other. So pople here hopefully are more careful when guessing. But most can tell I'm Dominican anyways. Thank God.
California is beautiful but I found Los Angeles so overrated. I would never move there. It's way too spread out for my like and the people are just as ghetto as the ones in New York. They're just not in your face like here. San Diego in the other hand seems like the perfect city to live to me. San Francisco is also nice but more like when you get older/retired. Kinda too chill.
