    Default Steppe mtDNA

So, the latest post at my blog covers the issue of Steppe mtDNA. The people with the most Steppe mtDNA are Tajik(s) in central Asia. I found several mtDNA lineages most common in Southcentral Asia & East Europe indicating they are female counterparts to Y DNA haplogroup R1a M417. Pretty awesome stuff. Check it out.

I remember reading in some studies (now I don't remember which ones) that when it comes to U5, typically Germanic subclades are: U5a1a1d, U5a1h, U5b2a1a1, U5b2a2, U5b2b4. On the other hand, U2e1g, U2e2a1, U4a2b, U4c2, U5a1b1c, U5a2b1, U5b1e, U5b2a2b1 are both typically Germanic and Slavic. My mtDNA Wiki report claims, that H1c, H1b1, H4a1a1a, T2f1 and V7a are also both Germanic and Slavic.

Some of these ancient mtDNA subclades from Poland are probably typically East Germanic:

    http://journals.plos.org/plosone/art...l.pone.0110839

    When it comes to U and H, typically Slavic are H5 (H5a1f, H5a1r, H5a1s, H5a2, H5b4, H5e1a, H5u1, H5a1a), H6 (H6c, H6a1a9, H6a1b3), U4 especially U4a (U4a2a, U4a2b, U4a2c, U4a2g, U4d1), U5 especially U5a (U5a1a2a, U5a1c1, U5a2a including U5a2a1b, U5a2b1, U5b1a1), U3 (U3a1a, U3b1b) and U2e1b1.

It would be nice to know which mtDNA is typically Celtic (or Italo-Celtic) and Baltic as well.

What about W6 - isn't this also a Steppe lineage, found in Yamnaya and then Corded Ware?

As for WHG mtDNA, that was surely not spread by Steppe herders or Neolithic farmers, I think:

    - all of U8 (incl. U8a & U8c)
    - all of U6
    - all of U5b
    - all of U2d2
    - non-Steppe U5a
    - non-Steppe U2e
    - non-Steppe U4

And also (but this is rather EHG in case of Karelia, and some kind of UHG in case of Greece):

    - C1g (Mesolithic Karelia)
    - K1c (Mesolithic Greece)

Do you agree with this? Ofc. I realize that one needs to go into more details about subclades.

H11a was identified in a Mesolithic hunter-gatherer from the Narva culture in Lithuania by Mittnik et al. 2017

My mt-dna is the same as an ancient steppe male found at olon kurin gol Valley in Mongolia. So would that fellow be like an ancient uncle or a close cousin? Weird because I can't find any closer matches today. Even in my own family, the female line is bottlenecked.
