Many ethnic Spaniards are not the same either. Basques and Asturians have a completely different culture from the peoples of Madrid, who in turn are also culturally different from the people of Andalusia. There are many distinct cultures and languages in Spain other than... Spanish. So, what's your opinion about this issue? Do you think Spain should be fragmented into distinct kingdoms and finally give independency to the Basques?

Not exactly the same culture, but anyone studying about their different cultures can see that they can match, no matter how different they are. The only exception may be the Basques, who have a non-Indo-European language and a very unique and different culture and genetic component from all other Iberians.

There is already an Iberian Union, its called Spain
Coming from the Latin word Hispania, Spain is a country of different ethnic and linguistic groups. Portugal was also part of Spain at some point but they got their independence

My point is: Portugal should never have become independent to begin with, as their culture is very similar to Spain's and thus shouldn't be another nation. My country, Brazil, for example, has very different cultures (much more different than Portugal is from Spain) and it's still only one nation. By my reasoning, I just can't understand why a nation called Portugal would ever need to exist; the only ones different enough from the rest of Iberia to be worth of becoming their own separated nation are the Basques... only.

Yes! All Latin America should unite as only one country and create a new language called Portunhol or Portuńol. The United States should also unite with Canada because there isn't any difference between them either.
Portuguese and Spanish are so similar that they can be considered different dialects of the same language, as I can translate the text above to both languages and any native Portuguese or native Spanish speaker will understand both:
Sim! Toda a América Latina deveria unir-se em uma única língua chamada Portunhol ou Portuńol. Os Estados Unidos também deveriam unir-se com o Canadá porque năo há diferença alguma entre eles, também.
