Dogs vs. cats

*sigh* I wish I had a pet. I can't adopt one because of my mother's great fear for animals.

Cats can be bullies perhaps, but many a dog maims and kills their owner, and often children. Plus, they kill other pets. My husband's miniature poodle killed my stepdaughter's hamster while our cats could have cared less lol.

Of course cats kill small rodents and birds on occasion, but if you keep them indoors, this is less likely to ever happen. I don't have to worry about my little tortie-pointe siamese latching on to my face or throat and shaking me until I'm dead the way a pit bull or similar type dog can sometimes do, and totally without provocation.

I'll stick with cats all the way.

I don't particularly like either. However I dislike dogs more, per the issue their nasty behaviors are more tolerated by society, their widespread population and the fact large numbers of dogs (packs) of average size together can become a serious threat.

Cats can be more of an environment problem though since they kill helpful birds and small mammals. Dogs also do this but they're not that crafty in hunting and tend to scavenge more. Dogs however pose more of a threat to pedestrians and a nuisance to neighbors.

Dogs are eternally loyal while cats actually don't care about you and would probably try to kill you if they were bigger. Also, I'm allergic, so there's that.
