    For Sardinians it's quite normal to have all the grandparents from the same place, or from the same sub-region of the island. In Sardinia there is a kind of natural diffidence toward strangers, even towards people from nearby villages. Maybe it's for these reasons along with geographic isolation that Sardinian DNA remained so archaic since remote ages. This kind of way of thinking is well summarized in a traditional proverb : Si léas muzére, léala in bidda, e si podes, in carrela. (If you take wife, take her in your village, and if you can, in your street).

    Consanguinity is seen as a bad thing, here no one uses to marry a relative, in the past it was considered accetable to marry a cousin, but nowadays it's uncommon.

    No, a little further away from each other: paternal grandparents 150km away and maternal grandparents 90km away.

    Though my great-great-grandparents were 2nd cousins and neighbors (000,1km from each other) haha
