That's the point. Pure geographical divisions play no sense. Europe was always divided culturally, historically, climatically.

That's why simply drawing a mathematically correct lines won't produce logical result.

This is almost identical to mine. I just excluded Austria from SW Europe and excluded Hungary from NE Europe. I would have given Southern France to SW Europe but the map didn't divide France into north and south, so I didn't either.

It's dificult, because most maps are distorted. For example i think scandinavia is too small in this map:

In my map both Austria and France (and Switzerland) are part of the southwestern quadrant.
