Sounds unique to me. I mean, I have heard Persian and Kurdish languages and really Pashto doesn't seem to be much similar to either of them in my opinion.

My Afghani best friend told me that Persian is much more easier to learn than Pashto. Is the language descended from Avestan btw?

It sounds like a strange dialect of Persian. I disagree to the people that say it has Urdu/Hindi influences. It's Urdu/Hindi that have Persian/Farsi influences, not the other way around.

It might sound similar since Persian was influenced by Arabic to a very extreme degree and even had Semitic influence from the Arameans and Assyrians. Both Pashto and likely Kurdish were much less influenced by Arabic, although large Arabic influence exists in those languages as well.

The Kurdish here sounds a lot like Pashto:

Since I speak both languages I can pick up on subtle similarities between kurdi and Pashto that make the two uniquely different from Farsi and other Iranian languages.

For example between 0:43 to 0:46 in your video the Sorani reporter says “Rusakan” which means Russians. This way of turning singular nouns to plural is unique to Pashto and Kurdi and not found in Persian (Farsi)

    Pashto. Kurdi. Persian. English
    Rusiyan. Rusakan. Rusha. Russians
    Kurdaan. Kurdakaan. Kurdha. Kurds

Another unique thing shared between Kurdi and Pashto but absent in Persian is preposition. For example in 0:99 to 1:02 of your video he says:
La hukumat meaning the government . In Pashto you can also say La hukumat whereas in Persian this is absent.

There’s also as you mentioned many words similar Pashto and Kurdi but not in Persian and also that from a distance Pashto sounds much more similar to Kurdi than to Persian

The Pashto that I hear from Pashto speakers in Afghanistan usually sounds like a blend of slavic/ Kurdish / Persian mix . The " Urdu /Hindi " influence is completley absent depending on region which I think has to do with the accent and not the actual language itself . The Pakistani Pashto dialect around the Indus regions usually picks up Urdu / indic influences I believe .
