The whitest Europeans are British Islanders, followed by the people of Scandinavia including Finland. Ireland would be the whitest since nearly 80% of its population is skin type I/II, meaning nearly 80% have a skin type which doesn't tan or tans with difficulty. This was confirmed by the Irish Ministry of Health as well. No nation outside of the British Isles come close!! Many Finnish, Scandinavians and even North Russians have very light skin complexion but still tan much better than the British Islanders.

Lived the vast majority of my life in the Aussie sunshine. Nope still freckled and pink with pale blue eyes. Although some Irish do tan but the majority don't appear to. Nothing wrong with that but there is something to the stereotypes although there are always exceptions.

Genes like MC1R seem to be associated with both red hair and very light skin pigmentation. It does unsurprisingly seem that populations with relatively high frequencies of red hair variants, like the British and Irish, seem to have the fairest untanned (and with lower tanning response, higher incidence of melanomas etc.) skin on average.

Tan? Tan where? In Scandinavia where they mostly live? How? For example in north part of Finland (winter time) there are months period then Sun will not rise at all...looks like this at 12 a'clock (no clouds)
.... same can not be said from UK! Fuck ... those people needs to be very tanned vs Irish!
Plus I don't care shit how they would (theoretically) tan so called unnatural environment like in Spain/Greece ... as they don't live there.

Nobody would like to look like brownheads when one is a Nord. Also, Nords of course get a tan too when going to the Med countries. Luckily, a Scandinavian gets an orange glow when tanned, not brown. It's also partly due to the Nordic diet, which contains many beta-carrotenes.
