    It's the jaw harp thingy which gives that impression. To my ears it sounds very distinct. There might be some elements in the vocals that are somewhat related due to habitation of northern latitudes but it's entirely coincidental.     Jawish harp is called temir khumuz or komuz (kopuz) among turkic peoples and is used for trance music by shamans and kams. I noticed that the Scandinavian, Rus, Ukranian, Finn even Scotts as well as all Turkic ppl play it in their folk music

    There may be cultural transmission ofc (as for the throat singing and vocals too) but this shows that those communities lived close enough to adapt their culture or they had a common root once
