Okay.
I don't know, man....in regards to Elvis his impact on music is something I can recognize and respect, but his actual music is just not all that compelling to me, harmonically or rhythmically, his voice, lyrics, the general form, etc etc, its just really not for me.

Actually a better comparison would be Beatles vs Rolling Stones. The latter were simply better at weathering the dramas and personality issues of the different band members. The Beatles? All it took was Epstein dying and Yoko Ono entering the scene to send everything into disarray and become undone by their own hubris.
This is true, although in my opinion The Beatles breaking up when they did, at the top of their "game", was a blessing in disguise. There are so many artists/bands (like the Stones, imo) who keep on being active while they should have disbanded long ago, like if you count Abbey Road as their last record (since it was the last one they recorded) they ended on a great note, not fizzling out.
