Clearly, there's a religious agenda to defend, but even if we'd assume it's correctness in the first place, that would not lead to a contradiction with the theory of evolution. Today, most christians believe in theistic evolution, and as I've said before, there's nothing inconsistent about that, so I'm not sure why certain christians consider the theory evolution to be such a threat for their faith.
