Sorry to say but I've seen such working class British bully American & Canadian kids in school; asking things like "what's wrong with you" and to speak the "Queen's English". That can't be quite racism given as America & Canada were former colonies and predominantly European still. Same with how those among the working class British divide their own country between north & south still.

I'm a northerner meself. I have a strong accent - enough most Americans/Canadians think I'm Scottish when I speak with my accent - and apparently to some fellow British I'm not much better than an ill-educated tramp because of something as asinine as an accent despite how that's quite far from the truth. In fact, an old Londoner here at work in the Americas last month reminded me of that north/south divide when he made a snippy remark about how the north is the place where "you can barely understand a word they're saying".

Such arrogance, or ignorance, however you may refer to it is why some British still treat Scottish, Irish and Welsh poorly.




I'll admit some of the forum goers may have never experienced British first hand. Or have through tourists that can be very much like the Americans Robocop mentioned - arrogance & ignorance combined. Or have heard what their relatives/friends may have experienced and let that color their options.

But to say the British are some of the least arrogant Europeans isn't quite correct.

I have to say some (MANY) positive things about your people, for example; I LOVE YOUR HUMOR, for me it is far superior than American humor (maybe Seinfeld is the only one who can match you), I cannot imagine my life without TV Series like "Only Fools and Horses, Monty Phyton etc...".

To me personally, John Cleese is the most intelligent comedian in last 50-60 years.

And btw, I know this may sound harsh for some ppl, but sometimes when I meet someone in life, I love to ask him/her does he/she loves Monty Phyton, if she/he says NO, then I know they have average intelligence haha.

My favorite singers are from UK (except Elvis, Eagles and Eros Ramazzotti haha); Robbie Williams, Rolling Stones, Queen, etc etc etc...

And to go back to "Only Fools and Horses" TV series, I grew up on that series, to such degree that they're like my family or somethin hahaha.

YEAH, I love that series THAT MUCH .

So there are SO MANYYYYYYYYYY good things from UK which are part of my life that I would be the greatest hypocrite ever if I would deny it.

To repeat; I love your humor 10 000 times more than American one, and I find it far superior to American one considering tv series etc...

Let's not forget also Sacha Baron Cohen omgggggggggg hahahah.
