Here people learn not to be arrogant, or they are being excluded from social groups, with such experiences kids during at least in high school learn to be humble.
''Shy''... like you put it...doesn't mean arrongant.

I can actually relate these comics to myself Anyway, i don't think what people talk here is what we know as arrogance. I wasn't thinking about Finns (i don't have much experience with them) but other NW Europeans like Germans and Dutch (not all ofc), at least what i observed is how often they talk about themselves and love to bash others, it's a very childish and repulsive trait, nerds with no friends also do the same.

Chinese people are also very arrogant, might be the most arrogant people on the world, and it's cancerous. Japanese people on the other hand are very humble, being humble is in their moral code.

When this movie was in Croatian theathers, trust me man, every Croatian person felt like Scotsman, half of theatre was crying lol.

We have expression; Women cries on Titanic, Men shed tears on Braveheart.
I was only four years old when the movie first came out. Braveheart is one of my best movies I have ever watched. Good old Mel Gibson. I think the movie made people in taking pride of their Celtic roots more so than ever before.

In my opinion the English are by far the most arrogant.
You sound like Trump when he said he was the most humble guy on the planet.

If we were more confident we would have been our own country by now. Its the lack of confidence and self-doubt that holds the place down. It's frustrating.

French people are usually seen as the stereotype of arrogant and snob; however this thing many times is overexaggerated, expecially in American movies.

look at this exhilarating scene :

Non Auro, Sed Ferro, Recuperanda Est Patria (Not by Gold, But by Iron, Is the Nation to be Recovered) - Marcus Furius Camillus (Roman General)
