Since they are doing nothing extraordinary, following footsteps of other countries usurping ancient name for their contemporary republic (for eg GHANA has nothing to do with ancient Ghana) even if they didn't have historical ties to it...they should go for a grander name, maybe fyro-Austria Hungary or something like that.

Lombards, Normans and Franks who rule modern Italy have nothing to do with Italy etc....

But Macedonians actually HAVE Macedonian ancestry.

And at the end of the day, The general Greek public don't want us to have Macedonia present in the name whatsoever. So i doubt the Greek government will accept even something as absurd as upper Macedonia.
