Prosecutions Urged for Nazi Salutes at Serbian Rally

Serbian anti-fascists filed criminal and misdemeanour complaints against members of far-right groups for making Nazi salutes at a rally to commemorate WWII-era puppet government premier Milan Nedic.

The Anti-Fascist League of Serbia said on Wednesday that it has filed complaints against three members of far-right organisations for making Nazi salutes during a rally to commemorate Milan Nedic, the prime minister of Serbia’s puppet government under German occupation during WWII.

Fact is Nedić saved many Serbs from death. He was a puppet yes, but he was the only one willing to sacrifice his honor in order to have as much as power to help Serbian people, he also was not a National Socialist sympther he only disliked communism. If we listened to him and kept calm during WW2 instead of pointless fighting against Germans, today there would be around 500 000 more Serbs at least.

Majority of Serbia did not want to be a puppet state of Germany.

Remember paroles "Bolje Grob nego Rob, bolje rat nego pakt"

Dragiša Cvetković tried to find agreement with Austria and Germany, and he could do so... but people DID NOT WANT THAT.

Also Milan Nedić government was something people did not want in the first place.

Also, Germany attacked first... so what should Yugoslavia do? Surrender?

Chetniks have lost a lot of reputation among the populace cause they wanted to align with Germany (through Cvetkovic) in the first place (to avoid war)
which is why people swarmed into Communist Partisans instead of Chetniks.

King fled (people hated him), and that's how communists won, they won because Radicals acted like a cowards.

I also wouldnt want us to be puppet of Nazis, but what were our choices? If we look rationally best thing would be that we tried to remain neutral. Germany attacked us because of that coup supported by England.

Of course no one liked puppet government, but that is where greatness of Milan Nedić lies. As i said he knew people will oppose, but he still wanted to do everything to help Serbs. Also imagine if he refused to cooperate, we would probably have another Jasenovac in Šabac or elsewhere.

I agree that that we made a lot bad decision in that period, number one is of course creation of Yugoslavia.

Yugoslavia was a terrible decision, Croats were the major problem.. others were not.

Croats had their Catholic agenda, Vatican supported them etc... they are totally incompatible with Western Balkans even by modern standards.

They are so different that I don't see them related to us at all.

Also, it's not like he ever sympathised with the nazi ideology, the death camps and the extermination of the Jews were fully planned by the nazis themselves. He fought the Germans bravely in the April war and he never voluntereed to be a part of the Serbian puppet government, nor had he aided them until they gave him the ultimatum which lead to him assuming the position he is infamous for today.
The revisionist anti-serb historiography movement which started in the 90s is trying really hard to overplay the role Serbs had in fascism...it's bad enough that they trivialize Serbian WW2 victims, now they try to paint us as the villains in that war. Nedić was a collaborator and a puppet, not a facist. The only Serbian fascists were Ljotić and his followers from Zbor who formed the Serbian Volunteer Corps.

One of best things that happened to Serbia is that we fight against nazi Germany in WW2. We are proud of our anti fascist past.

Yet he had no balls to accept leadership under Nazi Germany.

Yeah lets be proud that we entered in a war we could have avoided which led to +600 000 Serbs getting killed. Not to speak of our stupid civil war.
