This is many years old and from a Discovery channel documentary. They might have made him darker skinned than an ancient Israelite would have been. They made sure to make him look like a typical Arab.

That pic was made from remains of criminals that were found inside a cave near Israel. That would be like picking a random American prisoner and claiming "The founding fathers were black".

More like true image of a random person of the area from Jesus' time. But I think Jesus was described as ugly so it may be close.

Discovery Chanel pretends the he looked like a gulf Arab, but it makes more sense to think that he must have looked like today's Levantines (Lebanese and Palestinian). Not as light and Euro looking as Europeans, but not as swarthy/dark as Gulf Arabs.
