Why do people defend Serbs?

When it comes to the Yugoslav Wars, why is it that people "go easy" on the Serbs and many even defend them despite the crimes they committed?
They we're objectively the "bad guys" yet you see it everywhere, from the international community to all over the internet, facebook, youtube, reddit, this website, etc.
Thoughts?

Go into any discussion on the internet about the wars and you'll see that "omg all sides we're bad" or "all sides commited warcr1mes" are common themes. I mean I even saw it on the old IMDB discussion boards.
In one of the threads here there is a video of a Canadian General and Ambassador going on Canadian news and defending Bosnian Serbs.

Why? Maybe becouse you are visiting European forum, and, since Serbs are Christians they will get more "fans" surely. Nothing weird about that.

Sure that's one reason, religion. But as I said this is prevalent all over the net.

Well we are the remenants of Ottoman Empire in Europe which is 99.9% Christian. We should be thankful for being spared.

There is no justice in the world. My neighbor from Janja Gora was Ottoman Serb also did unspeakable crimes to Orthodoxes in 20th century so we can’t speak about Orthodoxes as only victims. We harmed them as well ... a lot
