Wikipedia is a (neo)liberal conformist-PC cesspool of a Wikipedia on these issues and simply wrong. Puppet state would indicate that the NDH for instance needed to give its earned tax money significantly to Italy or the Reich. Not true at all. It was logically under military supervision at that time of the bigger two Axis nations as the big world war needed to be won first and foremost. It was a real country in any case. It was at worst initially a vassal state to Fascist Italy and later the Reich. Highly free to govern its nation as Croats pleased. In contrast to Yugoslavia for a long while where Serbs had economic hegemony and wanted to Serbinize Croats slowly but surely. Hitler initially wanted the popular peasant party in charge though they as democrats refused. This allowed the Ustasa state to fully express itself.

According to Ustasa ideology the state was even racially fascistic (similar to the Third Reich). As such only people of Croat European blooded were allowed the lead the nation with a few exceptions they themselves allowed within the government. Croats in any case didn’t have the numbers to be a (big) empire and being a vassal state to the beautiful Italic empire and / or German – wasn’t a bad thing in the first place (especially once the war had been won giving the power of those two Empires then). The NDH was more of a country than current liberal pro EU Croatia. Far more as racial fascists (national-socialists) governed the nation and they would have continued to do so after an Axis win. Also a puppet nation doesn’t reclaim land from Italy like they did later on nor would Fascist Italy have wanted them to sign an agreement to not increase their Luftwaffe if they didn’t have control or wouldn’t have had full control later on once the war had been won. Like said at worse they were a vassal state - at least initially.

In any case it was better than being in a union with semi-retarded (slightly unfair maybe – lol) highly corrupt chauvinistic by nature Serboslavs in Yugoslavia. The NDH would have truly evolved to something beautiful racially and economically within the Axis alliance. Sadly the commies and Allies won. Thus Europe and Croatdom with it is dying a racial death. The polar opposite would have been the case with an Axis win.

You and the OP would have been loyal racial-nationalists to the state and Croatia would have been much, much better off with an Axis win overall. Also most Germans would have been signing Heil Hitler to this day had the Reich / Axis beaten the Soviets early on in 1941” like they almost did btw.

It would have been superb, that instead of commie serboslav totalitarianism - every day of the week. Yes, the Ustasa were the last hope of Croatdom miss EU.

The only thing I regret is losing that war. Oh and if Serbslav deaths were even remotely accurate - there would not be so many of them on Croat lands to this day sadly.

You sound like a radical Croat from diaspora (probably in the new world, like Australia), who think ideas about race and purity of blood ever played any importance among non Anglo-Saxon Europeans.

Nazi Germany and it's allies was anti-Christian and anti-civilisational creation as much as Soviet Union and it's allies were.

Let's hope such thing never happen again, and that our Croatia's best years are ahead of her
