Keltic - i.e., hard C. Seltic, or soft C, refers to Boston's NBA team.

I am probably wrong, but I get annoyed when people say "Keltic" I always have heard "Celt" with an S sound. And it sounds more normal and natural to me.

i feel the same about latin pronunciation...school taught me curch latin with soft C and hard V but now i try to pronounce it like latins did

Veni Vidi Vici (Church) vs Weni Widi Wiki (old latin) (soft v is even older than hard C though, but it sounds badass)

I pronounce it "Bob", as is customary of my people.

Just kidding, I would normally pronounce it Kelt, I guess because that is the way I'm accustomed to hearing it. Not sure I've ever heard anybody say it the other way, unless referring to the Boston Celtics.

I have always said it like this: Cappo-dah-see-uh (s sound (cia) similar to c in cinnamon) or Cappo-doch-ee-uh (ch like in church).

Of course I have no idea if that is correct, I never actually even thought about it.

How would you say the second k in "kappadokia"? Like Ch as in China?

No, its just supposed to be pronounced like a regular "k". Like the "k" as in king.

The official spelling is Cappadocia, I was transliterating it when I wrote "Kappadokia".

Interesting, I was almost sure it was either an "s" or "ch" sound. My whole life has been a lie.
