    Here's a brand new Estonian paper. https://opetajateseminar.files.wordp...2018-tekst.pdf

N1c1 has now been found from Estonian Late Bronze Age Tarand graves which have long been thought by linguist and archaeologist to be Proto-Finnic people.

    According to the paper

Eesti juurtega keele. Sarnaseid asju toimus ka tänapäeva Peterburi aladel. Sellistest kombinatsioonidest
arenesid hilisemad hämelased, savolased, karjalased, isurid ja vadjalased.

    This translates to

In the first half of the first millennium of time, the culture and language of the Baltic Finns began to spread from North Estonia first to Central Estonia, then across the Gulf to Finland, then to Northwest Estonia and the fourth by the end of the century, to the islands of Western Estonia. Over time, the language and culture of each new region were distinguished.

The Baltic Sea Finns who traveled across the Gulf of Finland met inland before they came to the Saami who took over much of the new Estonian root language. Similar things happened in today's St. Petersburg areas. From such combinations were born later Tavastians, Karelians, Izhorians and Votians.

    Let's recap.

1 That paper has the DNA of Iron Age proto-Finnics from Estonia

2 That paper models Estonians as the closest descendants of Iron Age proto-Finnics.

3 According to that paper Finns, Karelians etc are descendants of Iron Age Proto-Finnics and Saami-like population.

4 According to paper this mixing happened when Proto-Finnics crossed the gulf of Finland around first half of first millennium. This dating fits perfectly with the date given by Dienekes: 130BC-320AD.
