Other than Greece i have seen this dish only in Southern Europe and Balkans.

And yeah its archetypical Greek food.

I think its actually cool that Spanish have this kind of food also.

I find alot of things in Spanish cuisine similar to Greek.
The Talmud tells us that the only language the Torah could be translated into elegantly is Greek.

Much of Middle East also has roasted leg of lamb, etc. I can say for sure both the Levant and Egypt do.

Roast leg of lamb as well as braised lamb shank. Method of preparation, accompaniments, etc., seem different from what was shown in the Spanish cuisine photos, but if someone can give more information on this, I'd be curious.

Yes they use different spices and style of preparation compared to Greeks or Spaniards.

But Spanish culture, despite having some similarities to Greek, is mostly similar to North African and Mexican culture.

That is American food, not Spanish. You could not find tacos, burritos and that American food in Spain except in the few Mexican restaurants we have here.

In the other hand in USA you can find tacos, burritos etc in supermarkets or restaurants that have nothing to do with Mexicans, what proves it is a food highly integrated in the American cuisine, or what is the same: it is American food.

No comment that exist in USA since the beginning of the XX century

Mexican food and culture has nothing to do with America or Americans, it never has, and it never well. Now I have to go to dinner, to eat a good American burger.
