Arbanasi (Arbanasi language: Arbëneshë) is a community in the Zadar region, Croatia, of Albanian origin, who traditionally speak the Arbanasi dialect of Gheg Albanian.Their name means Albanians in Croatian and is the toponymy of the first Arbanasi settlement in the region, which today is a suburb of Zadar. In Albanian literature, they are known as "Albanians of Zadar" (Arbëreshët e Zarës).

They came to Croatia from Shkodra in early 18th century, and there were some migrations in 17th century to Istria. They gave Croatia many famous people.

This is the most probable origin for the Drekali/Drekalovic branch of Kuqi as they are E-V13>Z16661, claim to come from Berisha and have the same Ydna as Albanians who are part of Kuqi/Drekal. The old Kuci however seem to be Slavs in origin iirc

Yh I'm pretty sure that the Old Kuci that have been tested were R1a-Z280

One guy from Podgorica which is from Old Kuci was tested and he is R1a, but I don't know which branch.
