Default The Four Criteria of European-ness

Often, I see on this forum, "Is X group European", or "Is X group White", so here's my attempt to answer that question definitively and decisively. It can also be applied to individuals.

There are four criteria, if you fulfill 3 or 4 of them, you're European.

    1. Language
    2. Religion
    3. Genetics
    4. Geography

    A more detailed explanation
    1. When applied to a nation, this question is "Is the national language a European language?" When applied to an individual, this question is "Are you and all of your ancestors for the last 4 generations native speakers of a European language?"
    2. When applied to a nation, this question is "Is this nation primarily Christian and/or Jewish?" When applied to an individual, this question is "Are you Christian, Jewish, or a secular/agnostic/atheist who descends from people of those religions?"
    3. When applied to a nation, this question is "Does this nation's majority/native ethnic group cluster with Europeans?" When applied to an individual, this question is "Do you cluster with Europeans?"
    4. When applied to a nation, this question is "Is this nation mostly or entirely European geographically?" When applied to an individual, this question is "Were you born in Europe, and do you live there now?", with 0.5 of a point for each part of the question answered in the affirmative.

    I score 3/4.

I guess I fulfill all 4 criteria. OP and other European-Americans will always get 3 of them.

Most Latin Americans will get 2, Gypsies will get 3, Moslem migrants to Europe will get 0.5, their descendants will get 1, unless they convert and intermarry with Native Europeans.

Gypsies 3? They are not real Europeans. They speak a Indian language and are genetically different from indigenous Europeans.

Mortimer said a lot of Gypsies don't speak the Romany language anymore, and speak European languages now. He said his grandparents only spoke Serbian.

I don't consider any Gypsy to be European ethnically and culturally.

Gypsies who speak Romany and don't mix with mainstream European society are 2/4 on this scale, Gypsies who mix with mainstream society and speak the European languages are 3/4, and British Gypsies (who are like 85% British and only 15% Gypsy, and thus within the European genetic cluster) are 4/4.

    Nice logic you got there...

    1. A Hungarian convert to Buddhism is not a European.
    2. Finns are not Europeans

I'm not sure how I feel about Westerners who reject Western religions. I'll have to think about that.

That's one PCA plot, on the Eurogenes plot they cluster with Europeans.

Lolwut? Finns are genetically one of the most European populations, how can they not be European

Anyways, I score 2.5 if we take it from the country where I live right now (Europe).

    If I use Iran, I get 1.
