    Default Is Citizenship a right?

    Is Citizenship a right?

    I mean.. Obtaining citizenship.

As you are an immigrant and you want the Citizenship.

Would t be more safe to give citizenship only to the bride/groom immigrant with an Italian?

I mean it s also more correct like this for me. A right compromise of new people with tradition as your husband/wife is Italian so he/she will guarantee a true integration.

I belive in this. I m right wibgs as you see in citizenship matters.

Why do you need it if you just came here to work? We could just make laws for you to stay infinite time here without citizenship.

I think an immigrant could be granted citizenship is they really love the country where they are living, not just to leech welfare. Also, just for symbolic purposes, to adopt citizenship, the applicant should adopt the host's country official religion. For example, if you want Italian citizenship, you should become a catholic even when you'll never visit a Church.

This whole idea of a citizenship that gives you equal rights to the ethnic inhabitants of a country, is American and only should be applied there and other countries that never been ethnostates.

Citizenship should be linked to ethnicity.

I am not speaking about another Euro immigrants. They usually return back their countries later or soon (except some Easterners, of course ).

As people always move. It s an utopia a person that doesn't t move; they come to live in a country also for the entire life.. That could be right under controlled number of immigrants each year.. But that is acceptable.. Different is give citizenship.. That for me is not a necessary right. They could live here without citizenship. And we give in this way citizenship only to those who marry a citizen. So they have a partner with autoctono culture and that would be a balanced and fair compromise.

I Don t agree. That s religion discrimination. An Italian can also be Buddhist or atheist.. Or whatever

Thank God it's not that easy to get citizenship.

Citizenship should be granted to those who respect the following rules:

1 - know the language of the country
2 - accept its culture/traditions and respect them (Muslims for example come in Italy pretending we remove crucifixes from schools )
3 - have a stable work and contribute to the country welfare

Please note that also the citizenship doesn't make you ethnically the same as the native ones who live in the host country.

A German can get Italian citizenship but it will remain ethnically German.
