The stories here are mostly from London, but I have heard of a few ads like this in San Francisco, which is the most expensive city in the US behind Manhattan.

Well, it's their choice but I also don't see it ending well. How do you evict someone because they won't give you a blowjob any more? How do you prove rape if you have this type of arrangement but one day the owner of the building decides he wants sex more often and forces himself on her?

Sounds like a disaster to me. Plants an eviction notice on her door saying she's behind 4 blowjobs. LOL

I figured it out. Pay her in cash for the bjs and have her write you a check for the same amount as rent. That way there is a written record of rent being paid.

Given how expensive rents are, surely these landlords would be better off with seeing a call girl once a week rather than lose all that income?

Either way, this is definitely not a new problem. Creepy landlords must have been around forever.

When my mum was at uni in the 1970s/80s, two of her female classmates got free accommodation for the occasional bunk-up with their landlords. Their view, then, was very much that they were the clever ones, exploiting the sexual folly of foolish men.
