lol,any American would not consider an Egyptian as white even the Egyptian. It gets a bit tricky with Lebanese like someone like Ralph Nader. I even have seen Iranians that look white I always seen them as cousins.

White applies to certain people with certain features and generally a lighter pigmentation. Their features tend to be sharper(chiseled) and they usually have or are carriers of recessive traits.

I think White in the US tends to refer in large degree to the founding stock of the US. The further away genetically - the less likely phenotypically they'd be seen as "White". It's the reason some people like to give Italians grief. They're European but the average White person in the US for most of its history has been a North/West European rather than a Southern European.

Outliers exist everywhere and in every population. But you can't tell me that if you take the average European American and drop him in the middle of a busy crowded area in Cairo, he'd think to himself "Ahh, look at all these WHITE people."

Whatever article was written about it was probably written by some chip-on-their-shoulder anti-White Black Lives Matter supporter or something. It doesn't reflect the average American perspective.
